BACK FROM GEN CON 2019!
We hope everyone who played Battlelords games had fun. If you enjoyed playing Battlelords please let us know and post something in the comments. Feel free to show off your Battlelords souvenirs too. The convention was a great success for us, and we had a fantastic time running the game for new and old players alike. We hope you had as much fun as we did, and if you did be sure to spread the word about Battlelords! We even tried a new team building exercise, Battlelord's style (see last pic below).
At the con we had a 90% demo copy and several copies of the 59-page preview you can download from free here on DriveThruRPG. Both were printed on heavyweight paper (nearly cardstock) and the demo copy was too thick for tape binding. We had to use a coil binding – pics below. We will spend the next month making tweaks to the layout so that the book is complete.
NOTE: The final printed book will be hardback and have a smythe sewn binding. It will NOT be coil bound. It will also be thinner than the demo copy due to lighter weight (80# glossy) paper.
BIG NEWS FROM GEN CON
We found four companies that were so impressed with the demo copy and preview copies that they want to discuss partnering with us for the branding, marketing, and distribution of the new Battlelords book. Some of these companies are titans in the gaming industry. We don’t want to name any of them until a deal is finalized, but we are very excited. What does this mean for you? Battlelords may become a lot more widely known than we could have made it by marketing and distributing it ourselves. That means more Battlelords gamers for you to game with and more Battlelords products on the market – both in terms of quantity and variety.

Fifteen (15) of our eighteen (18) Battlelords of the 23rd Century (aka Battlelords) events are sold out for Gen Con 2019. If you’re interested in playing in the Battlelord’s universe filled with mega-corp mercenaries and spies, Alliance armed forces soldiers, or pirates & criminals sign up for one of our open events. Help to do your part to create more havoc (intentionally or unintentionally) in a galaxy at war and get paid the big credits to be expendable!
OPEN EVENTS:
Extract & Deliver (Friday at 4pm, Saturday at 4pm)
You have to extract a genius scientist from a corporate facility on Balshrom-owned weapons development world. The report says the scientist will go with you willingly. Sounds like easy money.
Note: Extract and deliver is a perennial favorite as hilarity often ensues when things inevitably go wrong.
It’s Just A Routine Inspection (Thursday at Noon)
Working as a colony inspector on the frontier is a rewarding job. Colonists appreciate the medical care, news updates, and supplies you bring, except for Colony RB7-1A. They don't want you here. Why?
If you’d like to try one of our other games our GMs will generally accept generic tickets and add a player or two with the consent of the ticketed players.
GEN CON SOUVENIRS
Don’t forget, all Gen Con participants in Battlelords games get a souvenir for their time in service to the Alliance Mega-Corps or the Galactic Armed Forces. In years past, we’ve handed out Battlelord’s dog tags or Battlelord’s toe tags, but this year it’s going to be something new!

Book Production
Layout on the body of the book is finished! We’re just making a few aesthetic tweaks here and there, correcting a few lingering typos, and finishing up the back cover, character sheet, and table of contents. We hope to have more news soon… potentially some big news!
The Gen Con gaming convention is only 14 days away and we have been spending a lot of our time prepping for the convention. Why do we care so much about Gen Con? Running Battlelords at conventions and hobby shops is our best way to introduce new players to the game. It’s also a great way to get the word out about the game to distributors and retailers. However, the very best way to introduce new players to the game and grow the fanbase is for YOU to run games and invite your friends and family to play! If you run Battlelords games at conventions, please let us know and we will get you a convention support package.
Currently 12 of our 18 events at Gen Con are sold out. 3 of the 6 events that are open have only 1 slot remaining. If you’d like to sign up for one of these games but want to bring a friend most of our GMs will accept generic tickets as long as the games don’t get too full and the other players consent to adding additional gamers.
This year we will be doing something new for a convention souvenirs awarded to participants in our events. More on that soon!

This year 23rd Century Productions, LLC will be one of the sponsors at the Diana Jones Awards Party. The Diana Jones Award for Excellence in Gaming was founded and first awarded in 2001. It is presented annually to the person, product, company, event, movement or any other thing that has, in the opinion of its committee, best demonstrated the quality of excellence in the world of hobby-gaming in the previous year. Gen Con Event Listing Error

It was brought to our attention that some of Gen Con 2019 events indicate show "Materials Provided: NO." This in an error in the description. NONE of our events require you to bring your own materials. We provide everything you need. We are attempting to get Gen Con to correct the description.
